About Us

Jenny Johnson-Blanchard is a dedicated karate instructor who brings with her 30-years of experience in martial arts. She holds the rank of 4th-degree black belt in karate, earned through her training with the esteemed National Karate organization in Minnesota. 

Jenny has over 25 years experience teaching martial arts in both in-person and virtual formats.  Her teaching philosophy blends traditional techniques with modern approaches, aiming to instill not only physical proficiency but also core values such as respect, integrity, self-esteem, and perseverance in her students.  She began her own karate training at the age of nine, and has first hand experience seeing how martial arts can positively impact the lives of young people.

Jenny was also a nationally and locally ranked top competitor in black belt creative forms for over a decade, and trained advanced students to excel in the realm of form creation and competition.

Additionally, Jenny has earned the title and belt level of Instructor in the martial art of capoeira, and co-owns Ignite Karate's sister martial arts school, Ignite Capoeira, with her husband.  She is a licensed K-12 teacher and is a homeschool mom to three children (who are all martial artists as well!).  In her free time she enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, and painting.
